2010 / 2011 League Registration is Open See Registration Instructions at the bottom of the page
The RAPS
Youth Racing League is for any and all children ages 8-14 who are
interested in participating. Drivers are placed in classifications based on
age, experience, and ability.
The RAPS Youth League is currently in the
off-season (i.e April to September). During the off-season youth kart handling
classes (see schedule below) are offered for new drivers and RAPS Practice Days are
offered to active drivers. If you are an active RAPS driver and would like the schedule of RAPS practice sessions, please contact Chris Colangelo.
So we can make sure we have enough instructors and
officials for each event, pre-registration is
required for all RAPS events.
The 2010/2011 Winter league is planned to
be held on Sundays from 09:00am - 2:00pm.
The league will consist of 8 points races, 2 optional practices, and an
endurance race. Drivers interested in racing in the RHP classification for the
first time must attend a try-out session. To schedule
a try-out session, contact either Chris
Colangelo or Jeff Hammerstein.

Race Day Format: Drivers run 1 warm-up heat, then 1 qualifying heat. Qualifying
lap times determine starting positions for the final 15 minute race. Drivers
compete within their class, including the final 15 minute heat. On some
occasions, however, drivers may compete in mixed class events.
Drivers earn championship points based on their finish in the final heat.
Points go towards a season championship.
All interested youth are welcome regardless of experience.
PREREQUISITE: Participants must have had
the RushHour Kart Handling Course, or they must take the RAPS Youth Prep Course. RAPS Youth Prep
Courses last from 9:00 am to noon. Class space is limited, so drivers
must pre-register for the class.
